About Us
Arambager Apanjan Welfare Society
Welcome to Arambager Apanjan Welfare Society, an organisation built on compassion, service, and the belief that every individual deserves equal opportunities. Though formally inaugurated and registered in 2007 on the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, its journey began much earlier in 1988. From its earliest days, the society has focused on empowering underprivileged families—providing education to children of Madurana School, many of whom rose to become engineers and doctors. Over the years, the society has also been dedicated to helping poor families find employment and supporting marriage arrangements for those in need.
The foundation of this noble initiative was laid by the visionaries Joydeb Chakraborty, Bijoy Kumar Kundu, and Asit Baran Chakraborty, whose commitment shaped the organisation’s values. As the society grew, it expanded to include 11 core members, each contributing to its mission of service and community upliftment. Today, Arambager Apanjan Welfare Society, with the help of its members, continues to stand as a pillar of support, working with sincerity and dedication to bring positive change to countless lives.
Our Key Activities
Arambager Apanjan Welfare Society is deeply committed in empowering deserving students and uplifting underprivileged families through education and support. The organisation helps academically strong but financially challenged students by providing guidance and assistance, enabling them to pursue fields such as engineering and medical studies. Beyond education, the society has taken significant steps in environmental care—including a major drive to remove harmful parthenium plants from the community. It also encourages physical development and team spirit through regular sports activities such as volleyball tournaments and children's sports events.
Extending its service to healthcare, the society organises outreach programmes for communities in need. One of the notable initiatives is the Kamarpukhur Eye Camp, which offers free eye checkups, free medicines, surgeries, and post-operative care at no cost. Through these combined efforts in education, environment, sports, and healthcare, Arambager Apanjan Welfare Society continues to create a meaningful and lasting impact in the lives of people.
Our Activities & Community Initiatives
Arambager Apanjan Welfare Society continues to expand its impact through a wide range of developmental, educational, and healthcare initiatives. The organisation has actively upgraded school infrastructure by building modular bathrooms, providing kitchen utensils, setting up projectors, and establishing smart classrooms across six schools. Support has also been extended to Shanti Dham Ashram orphanage through computer system donations, training programmes, and health check-up camps. Environmental welfare remains a priority, reflected in the large-scale eradication of parthenium plants across nearly 500 km.
The society conducts children’s awareness programmes and organises yearly blood donation camps—100 donors in 2023, 142 donors in 2024, and 162 donors in 2025—each donor receiving a mango tree sapling as a symbol of life and sustainability. In 2024, a major free eye camp was held in collaboration with Drishtideep on 8th December, resulting in 132 successful phaco surgeries.
Beyond activities, the society maintains a strong member base and student community, with 178 general members, a one-time life membership group, 101 pass-out students, and a growing list of active students. The student onboarding process is carried out with care—new students are identified through surrounding community outreach or direct applications, followed by inspection to assess both talent and financial condition.
Eligible students are guided toward higher studies such as medical, engineering, nursing, BSc, paramedical, and even PhD pathways, while those below HS level receive support for basic essentials like books. The society encourages community participation through student bites, profile sharing, page engagement, and donation options such as PayPal. Videos, updates, and awareness materials are also created using images and background music to engage a wider audience and showcase ongoing work.
Arambager Apanjan Welfare Society continues to create meaningful change through its comprehensive work in education, healthcare, environment, and social welfare. From developing school infrastructure and supporting orphanages to organising large eye camps and impactful blood donation drives, the society remains committed to uplifting underserved communities. Its long-term investment in student development—guiding talented but financially challenged individuals toward higher education—reflects its belief in transforming futures through opportunity. With a growing member base and expanding outreach, the society stands as a symbol of service, compassion, and sustained progress, dedicated to building a stronger and more inclusive community for generations ahead.
